We want everyone to be able to use our website and our services, whatever their abilities and whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement applies to the public website at shieldsgroup.co.uk, which is run by Shields Group, the business that designs, installs, monitors and maintains intruder alarm, CCTV and video doorbell systems for homes and businesses under the Shields Group name.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. These guidelines are the recognised international standard for making web content accessible to disabled people. We also recognise our duties under the Equality Act 2010, including the duty to make reasonable adjustments.
This statement doesn’t cover the partner portal, which is used only by our engineers and partners, or the app you use to control your security system.
Our website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. This means some parts of the site don’t yet fully meet the standard. We’ve listed them under “Known limitations” below.
This is our own assessment. The site hasn’t been audited by an independent third party.
We know that some parts of the site aren’t yet fully accessible:
We’re working on these as we rebuild the site. If any of them stops you doing something, contact us and we’ll help.
If you need information from this site in a different format, such as plain text or large print, or you’d rather talk it through, email contact@shieldsgroup.co.uk. We can arrange a call back if that’s easier. Tell us what you need, which page or information it relates to, and how you’d like us to contact you.
We aim to reply within 5 working days.
If you find something on the site that’s hard to use, or you think we’re not meeting the standard, please email contact@shieldsgroup.co.uk. It helps if you tell us:
Here’s what we’ll do:
If you’re not happy with our response, you can use our Complaints Procedure.
This statement is based on our own assessment of the site against WCAG 2.2 level AA. The site hasn’t been tested by an independent auditor, and we haven’t yet tested every page with every type of assistive technology.
This statement was prepared on 30 October 2026 and last reviewed on 30 October 2026. We’ll review it again when we make significant changes to the site.
Accessibility doesn’t stop at our website. If you have a disability or other needs, tell us what would help, and we’ll make reasonable adjustments wherever we can.
Our survey is free and there’s no obligation. We’ll arrange it at a time that suits you, and you’re welcome to have someone with you. Your engineer can talk your options through in person, and we can send your quote and other documents in a format that suits you.
Tell us about anything that would make installation easier, such as access needs, the best times for a visit, or where you’d find equipment and controls easiest to reach. We’ll take this into account when we plan your system.
You use an app to arm and disarm your system, watch live video, get alerts and talk through your cameras. The accessibility features available depend on that app and your device. Our engineers can show you how to use it, and if something doesn’t work for you, tell us and we’ll look at what we can do.
If someone at the property is deaf or hard of hearing, or may not be able to respond to a spoken warning from an operator through a camera speaker, please tell us. We’ll talk to you about how we can take that into account.
We handle enquiries by email, and we can arrange a call back if that’s easier. If you’d like a relative, carer or someone else to deal with us on your behalf, let us know and we’ll record your permission.
Email our team and we will respond to your query.
We use essential cookies to make our website work. If you click 'Accept All', we'll also record how you use our pages, like clicks, scrolling and the pages you visit, so we can improve the site. Anything you type into a form is never recorded. You can 'Reject All' to keep only essential cookies, and change your mind anytime in 'Cookie Settings'. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
